It is not China that wants to buy, but Russia want to sell. Russia hopes that China would buy the Su-35 in order to get 117S engine as a backup plan in case of WS-15 suffers delay. China is not interested in the Su-35 itself but only show some interest in 117S engine. The rumors of sales have been brought up by Russian news media, notChinese news media.
