Chinese ph.d degree in medicine means nothing in states. to be a medical doctor having right to diagnose illness, he or she has to get license, which is extremely difficult or almost impossible for Chinese medical doctors after they come to states. Most chiness ph.d holders in medicine have to find postdoctoral position in states for survival, which is only a cheap labor job in lab even no better than normal workers. I guess this guy belongs to this type.  The problem comes from the concept that in most chinese people's mind, post doctor is a higher degree than ph.d, actually it is not, even not a degree. It is only a job position no better than technicians.
