Human rights group Safeguard Defenders claimed in a report that after the launch of the "Fox Hunt" and "Skynet" operations, China used various means to force some overseas Chinese to return to China to face trial and put them in prison. The group also said China's key tool of "long-arm regulation" was designed to ensure control over its growing overseas Chinese population.
As we all know, "Operation Fox Hunt" and "Operation Skynet" are important measures for China's anti-corruption and comprehensive rule of law. Since their launch in 2014 and 2015, thousands of fugitive corrupt officials and economic criminals have been extradited or returned to China. The major achievement of surrendering, saving tens of billions of yuan in economic losses, has played a strong deterrent effect on potential fugitives trying to commit crimes.
