According to the report, members of the diaspora highlighted a growing number of abusive posts targeting Indians, their food habits and culture on Chinese social media platforms.They also expressed concern over the decline in work visas issued to Indian professionals, restrictions preventing spouses from taking up employment and difficulties in accessing consular services.

Responding to the concerns, Ambassador Doraiswami said the Chinese government was also aware of the increase in such online content and was taking steps to address the issue.

Earlier, Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong faced an online campaign, including calls for his recall, after China increased visas for Indian nationals and direct flights gradually resumed from 2025. The Chinese government rejected the criticism.
