If Chiang wanted to pick the time and batterfield to fight against Japs, he picked the wrong place, wrong general at wrong time to fight. China was not ready in 1937, Chiang admitted. If 1937 was the right time, why not China declared war against Japs invasion after July 7, 1937? So called right time did not come until after the attack on Pearl Harbour when both US and UK declared war against Japs. It was in 1941, not in 1937.  China declared war against Japs after US and UK! Just because Chiang was the nations's leader during WWII, that did not make him a strategiest. Respect the facts, guys.
