Isro is going to launch a crew mission to leo soon. It won't take India much time to catch up with rest of the space power specially with her cost effectiveness and ingenuity.

 @magnetospin  where did you get that no. of year from? They landed on moon few years back only. If India's space budget is increased which is likely going to happen India will surely be up there with China in 5-10 years.

 @physco4641 China had been providing commercial space launch since 1990. India just had its first commercial launch in 2007.  17 years difference.  China send their first human into space in 2003, 20 years ago.  India has yet to sent anyone into space.  20 year is just a rough number.  When India sent their first person into space, we will know how far behind they are.

 @physco4641 It is really appreciable that you are a proud Indian, But being a proud Indian does not mean that everything India does is correct and will remain so. India is yet to manufacture an aircraft with 95% local parts. India made its first aircraft carrier with Italian designers. Industrial complex is something that is not only fulfillable by budget. India can spend potentially more money than China but for the same amount of money China has a more stronger and matured industrial and scientific base. Which is not possible to be caught up only by patriotism

As an indian i will say this , all though our achievements are good they are not pack leading! India focuses on completing the race ,not competing in the race! Big difference!  We believe in being self sufficient so we will not have to depend on anyone else. That's why leading or being first is not on our mind!

 @physco4641 who told you India’s budget is gonna increase? FY24 budget was in fact reduced by 8% . Just because India became first to land on the moon doesn’t mean government will invest more money.

 @nmew6926  No one is taking India for a joke. It is not a matter of joke that a country sends a probe to Moon. However, reality is trying to compare India with the likes of EASA and CNSA who sent probes and rockets way before India despite being born long after ISRO. As long as reality is kept on check, India achieved a pretty remarkable feat for its budget and technological base.

 @Res_Lapix Parker solar probe will only be going at at 9.4 solar radii. Corona is not actual Sun. Actual Sun is at 1 solar radii. Corona is like what Sky is for earth. I was talking about reaching the solar surface which is the photosphere.

 @physco4641 I agree but anyone invested in Spaceflight knows that these things ALWAYS take longer than anticipated, no matter who it isIf india could make a moon base that quickly after launching people to space, NASA would’ve done it long agoThere’s a lot more to this than just being able to launch people to the moon, you have to develop systems and build rockets able to carry heavy payloads, you need reliable crewed rocketsBut I’m sure India will get there, they’ve been quick in their development cycle so far

 @Tate525  Yes please witness. How Royal Bengal tiger takes over Eagle and Dargon at the same time. People always understimated us. But we did it. We were the first country to discover water on the far sides of the moon. We become the first country to achieve soft landing on South pole of moon. We did it in cost effective budget. But soon we are going to even have a space station on Moon by almost 2045 this is the plan. We are not less than any one. Even if we are small. Our head are hailed high. If Chinese can do it and American can do it. We will do it too. Wait 2024

 @ThouSirKingsly  simply because of economy next 10 years it will change just like China they build all this in last 10 years as india gdp grows 6 to 7 % it will not be fast as China but it will be stable.

 @magnetospin  in that case india send mars orbiter first so that make China behind india....its about priority human space flights was not in our plans until recently because for us its not a competition . For China it is to show the world they are superpower for us its just curiosity .
