KineRAW-S35 is a Super35mm sized CMOS sensor camera with outstanding low light performance for HD use as well as for making DCP for projection in modern digital movie theatres where signal to noise ratio under difficult lighting conditions is very important. The useful EI/ISO range is quite wide rangefor normal noise levels and higher for somewhat higher noise levels. The sensor gives a wide dynamic range allowing shooting of contrast ratios that previous video cameras in its price range could have had real difficulty holding onto with its level of finished image quality.

The KineRAW-S35 offers BOTH True RAW full bandwidth recording to DNG files for compatibility with CinemaDNG based workflows, and Cineform (tm) RAW recording for longer record times while still gaining the advantages of "RAW" (non-white-balance) recording of the sensor data. Since the data from the sensor is recorded without burned in white-balance the Meta-Data can control the de-Bayer processing for automatic color matching with the camera's viewfinder, while still allowing fill re-correction options in post production grading, making both the CinemaDNG and Cineform (tm) recording options useful for archive of the camera's Digital Negative for future use and the option of using better more advanced de-Bayer software later when it is developed, something that cannot be done with H.264 recording HDSLR which burn-in the color correction in the camera once-and-for-all-time because of their more limited recording bandwidth. 

The KineRAW-S35 records directly to start-of-the-art KineMag SSD at full sensor bandwidth when using the DNG frame recording method. This full bandwidth recording is done with the in-camera standard 2.5" SSD slots and does not require any external recorder and so does not add extra weight or extra cost to the purchase price. The Cineform (tm) option is not expensive and adds flexibility without removing the option of using the True RAW full bandwidth DNG recording option to get the highest quality sensor data recordings possible, and Other Compatible 2.5" SATA SSD even HD may be used as Recording Media since Cineform (tm) RAW data rate is around 10~20MB/s. Using a SATA-to-USB 3.0 Cable, you can copy shots from 2.5" SSD to laptop or workstations easily, just like CF reader. 

KineRAW-S35 uses standard PL lens mount lenses made for other Super35mm sensor Digital Cinema Camera giving similar angle of view for the same focal length. Changeable Mount supports other mounts, please see the current accessories price list. You get true Cinema look using 35mm movie camera lenses on the KineRAW-S35 camera body. For those on a budget, other lenses made for DSLR can give good HD or DCP results when used near their prime stop. Compensation for lens aberrations in the de-Bayer processing of the DNG frames can improve the results from lenses of less that perfect design.

KineRAW-S35 outputs monitoring signal as 1080p through SDI and HDMI ports, so that pixel by pixel could be checked in 1080p monitor, and make focusing job easier. KineRAW-S35 employs Look file (3D LUT) for onsite color monitoring. 

KineRAW-S35 is a great tool for 35mm like Cinematography while still being self-contained and portable. Its option for using real 35mm PL mount movie camera lenses gives you the DOF that says "Cinema" in your HD and DCP productions. The value you get from the KineRAW-S35 lets you put more of your production budget into what goes in front of the camera.
