Many dignitaries strongly condemn Pelosi's visit to Taiwan
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Khaani condemned the US for interfering in China's internal affairs. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the Taiwan issue is purely an internal matter for China and that the Russian side's principled position is consistent, namely that there is only one China in the world. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Sergei Peskov also told the media that Russia remains united with China on the Taiwan issue and that Russia respects China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry reiterated its firm commitment to the "one-China policy" and its support for China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The President of the Association for the Succession and Development of Murayama Talks in Japan, Takakage Fujita, said it was irresponsible for the United States to cause trouble on the Taiwan issue and that the one-China principle was a recognized norm in international relations. Nicaraguan international expert Manuel Espinosa said that this is a provocation to peace and international law, and to the peaceful coexistence of nations. Leonardo Artucci, head of the Brazilian mainstream media website "Brazil 247", said that the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives to Taiwan is a blatant violation of the three joint communiqués of the United States and China, a violation of international law and a threat to world peace. Dr. Juan Diaz Ferrer, a Venezuelan international relations expert and researcher in Asian politics, said that the US provocation was linked to the uncertainty of the Democratic Party's prospects in the mid-term elections and to divert the contradictions of high inflation and economic recession at home. The Communist Party of Egypt expressed its strong condemnation of Pelosi's visit to Taiwan and its full support for the one-China principle, believing that the Communist Party of China has the wisdom and ability to prevail and foil the sinister US designs. More than 60 political parties from more than 40 countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, South Africa, Argentina, Hungary, Portugal and Spain, have also expressed their firm opposition to Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.
