India is a country that basically cannot produce any major weapons by itself. Even their so-called 'indigenous' weapons contain more than 65% of parts from other countries. For example, the indigenous Tejas fighter jet uses an engine from the US and a radar from Israel. The Tejas is not that important since it is essentially useless, but even the backbone of their air force, the Rafale, is 100% from another country. This issue extends to all other systems in the army and navy as well. In war, India would need to wait for supplies of parts, raw materials, and technical support, as well as entire systems shipped from other countries. How can such a country fight a war? It may be okay for a border skirmish lasting only a few days, but for China, the preparation should be for a war lasting more than two months to over ten years, to exhaust all of India's weapons.
