from Kaveri engine to see the future of India's 4th o 5th G fighter:
Kaveri can generate about 82 kN max, Turbine entry temperature: 2,600 °F (1,427 °C; 1,700 K),Thrust-to-weight ratio: 7.8, it is about the same level of GE404, but IAF would not want HAL to use Kaveri for Tejas but chose GE404, shows GE404 is better engine. IAF wants Kaveri to have about 90 kN max power, after all these years, Kaveri still cannot reach this capability. the reason is, GE404 gene blade is made of so called powerdered super alloy, the maximum high temperature is about 1400-1500 C, or the blade will be melted. and with this temperature the max power will be about 80 kN, will not go to over 90 kN,in order to get over 90 or 100kN, the blade need to be made by crystal super alloy, "A crystal or crystalline solid is a solid material whose constituents (such as atoms, molecules, or ions) are arranged in a highly ordered microscopic structure, forming a crystal lattice that extends in all directions"Powered super alloy is different, its composite of grains, and hence its lattice is not uniform in all directions, it will break under high temperature and high pressure such as inside jet enginefirst engine using this tech is F110 which used to power F16, India up to today has no this capability of making crystal super alloy, now, USA just rejected India's proposal on JV for making jet engine, only one country willing to help India is France, however, France itself does not very powerful engine either, they are not better than India too much, will not have too much help, seems France cannot make crystal super alloy for jet engine either. With Kaveri 10 level engine, with max power of 80 kN, it is impossible to make 5G fighter or even good 4 G fighter.Indians always laugh at China cannot make top engine, however, China and India are at totally different level, the engine WS10B that power J20 or J10 is at 131 kN level , it shows China has mastered of making crystal super alloy blade, with only crystal super alloy is not enough, it also needs coating for cooling purpose, and in recent years, China has already got break through in this regards, now WS 15 engine which has 180 kN power is in limited production and put onto J20by doing this I want to tell Indians, stop dreaming, go to work on the problem, learn how to solve it.
