Taiwanese in general deserve their current plight and they ask for it with their perculiar notions of what it counts as functional democracy. For some strange reasons, most of Taiwaneses seem to believe that if you alternately elect different political parties to governmental power without even the simplest judicious consideration of competency and integrity of th politicians they elect, somehow all the socioeconomic ills will be taken care of by themselves. They ask for only election culture but ignore all other political institutions that are sine qua non for proper function of democracy. Now, all it got is only the ugly deformity and highly defective political system in their own hand which is currently adroitly exploided by this social monstrosity the DPP. It seems to have never dawned on most Taiwanese that they are responsible as much as the politicians for causing the problems about which they are now complaining. As I always say, the politicians are as good or as bad as the people who elect them. Taiwan as whole will suffer disastrously for the naivete and misguided obstinacy from the majority of its people.
