Last week I reported that the Amish PAC was seeking volunteers in key swing states like Pennsylvania to drive Amish voters to the polls today. It looks like they succeeded, as in only one area they needed 20 cars but received 1500 volunteers to help the Amish beat Hillary Clinton this year.
The Amish PAC rallied communities in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, this year to support Donald Trump. They even put up billboards for Trump in Amish areas, featuring a horse and buggy carriage with an “I Voted” sign on it.
Amish supporters also came out in force for Trump’s rally in Lancaster County in early October, showing that they stand behind him in this election.
And of course we have this Amish man holding a Make America Great Again sign at Trump’s rally, who has become the poster child of Amish support for Donald Trump online.
Contrary to popular belief, the Amish do vote and have done so in the past, but typically only if the election will have a broad impact on the nation and their communities. This year, however, they seem to be showing particular support for Republican candidate Donald Trump and rallying behind his movement. Republican candidates like Mitt Romney tried to rally the Amish in Pennsylvania back in 2012, but didn’t manage to drum up much support.
Let’s hope the Amish turn out in force this year and help flip Pennsylvania and other key swing states for Donald Trump.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Amish vote and volunteered to help bring them to the polls this year to defeat Hillary Clinton.
